Our Story
Intentional Students was born out of the need for individualized teaching. Our founder, Elana Campbell, entered the education space to support her son, who, at the age of five, was diagnosed with autism. As her son approached school age, Elana enrolled at the University of Southern California and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching in order to better understand how to support her son and advocate for him in the best way possible. When Elana began teaching, she quickly realized the impact of inclusive education, which has shaped her career, philosophy on teaching, and focus on helping all individuals achieve success.
After her time as a classroom teacher, interventionist, Dean of Students, and Director of Upper School at a renowned charter school, Elana crafted and perfected a personalized organization system—the OPPTEmize™ method—which allows students to master executive function skills. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, gaps and deficiencies in planning and time management skills were amplified by virtual learning. So, in 2020, Elana founded Intentional Students to focus on personalized executive function support to bridge the gap between home and school. Elana’s passion for inclusive educational environments is the genesis of Intentional Students. She believes that everyone is capable of success as long as they are equipped with the right tools and strategies.
Since then, Intentional Students has expanded to offer services to college students and adults, social emotional learning support, and personalized products to complement the OPPTEmize™ method.
