Daryl was born in Chicago but spent much of her childhood with her family traveling abroad and learning the different cultures of the world. In the early 1990s, she settled and made a home in the desert of Chandler, Arizona, where she started her family and her career in teaching.
Daryl received her Bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, graduating with honors. She then took her education further north to earn a Master's Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University. She became fascinated with human brain and how it works mechanically in relation to learning and applications. Although she has spent much of her teaching career as a reading specialist and math interventionist, Daryl also has a special interest in tutoring, confidence building, "plan into action" planning strategies, problem solving (through patience), relationship building, and motivational techniques.
With her diverse experience as a reading teacher, Daryl has trained others--teachers, specialists, and parents--on how to teach this critical skill. She is truly passionate about the success of every child she reaches. She welcomes new challenges and eagerly seeks knowledge for her own growth, and to aid in the growth of her students. She chooses to face every day with hope, enthusiasm and, of course, coffee! She has proudly raised two of her own children (now grown), and enjoys time with her grandson, whom she spoils!
