Wendye is an experienced educator and administrator. Throughout her career, Wendye has had the opportunity to serve students as an Interventionist, Teacher, Reading Coach, Orton-Gillingham Tutor, and currently an Assistant Principal in a school for students with Dyslexia. Her experiences are also personal, as she provided continual executive functioning support for her daughter who struggled with ADHD, a learning disability, and executive functioning deficits while in school.
Wendye graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Family Relations, Masters in Child Development, and a Masters in Teaching. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, Elementary, Reading, and Administration. Wendye has had over 28 years of experience in working with children, parents, and families. These experiences have provided her with the knowledge to support students in strengthening their executive functioning skills.
Wendye’s approach is individualized, she listens to a student's academic and life goals and works with students to implement strategies for success. She believes that students build confidence with each success and this shapes their future in a positive way.
Wendye is based in South Carolina and she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family (this includes her dog (Ollie) and cat (Mr. Pickles).
