Nicole Walsh was born in a small Southern Indiana town near Louisville, Kentucky. She grew up loving to learn new things and admired her teachers, but never thought she would become one herself. After graduating with a Biology degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati, she realized that education was her passion. She joined a teaching program through the University of Notre Dame, and moved to Phoenix for her student teaching assignment. She graduated with her Masters in Education in 2016, and then with an MA in Educational Leadership in 2019, also from the University of Notre Dame.
Nicole has been teaching for 9 years in third, fourth, sixth, seventh, and eighth grades. She loves helping students realize their potential and gain independence. As a life-long learner herself, she hopes to instill this quality in her students. She believes students learn best when they feel valued and understood, and she strives to create environments where students feel this way on a daily basis. Learning is messy, and she aims to make students feel comfortable making mistakes but learning from them, and to create order from that process.
In her free time, Nicole loves to hike, camp, bike, read, play board games, and spend time with friends.
